THE BELOVED father who was stabbed to death in Abingdon's Poundland died on his wife's birthday.
Justin Francis Skrebowski, 61, was murdered in the Bury Street branch on Monday December 7 - the day his wife Gulsen Alkan turned 39.
The art dealer lived with Ms Alkan, a Turkish assistant picture framer, and their three-year-old twins in North Oxford.
Speaking at Oxford Coroner's Court this afternoon, senior coroner Darren Salter revealed that Mr Skrebowski was "stabbed in the back and fell to the floor".
Opening the inquest into Mr Skrebowski's death, Mr Salter reiterated the post mortem report which said he had died from a haemorrhage caused by his stab wounds.
His body was identified by his brother, Christopher Skrebowski, at the John Radcliffe hospital in Headington.
Family members last week described Stoke-born Mr Skrebowski as a "deeply caring husband" and a "proud and loving father."
Trevor Joyce, 36, of Franklyn Close in Abingdon, appeared in Oxford Crown Court on Friday charged with murder.
