MOURNERS packed into Trinity Church in Abingdon this morning to celebrate the life of "cheerful and popular" Kerry Reeves.

The 26-year-old died on November 5 after a shooting in her hometown.

Her family, friends and colleagues paid tribute to the former Abingdon College pupil at an emotional service earlier today.

Her coffin was carried into the church by members of her family, to the song Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay.

The Reverend Ian Griffiths welcomed everyone before beginning the service with a prayer. The poem 'Death is Nothing At All' was also read out on behalf of Miss Reeves' mum Nicola.

Miss Reeves' twin brother Luke wrote a few words for his sister, which were read out by a friend.

He said: "My heart can never repair. Please show me you are there every now and then.

"I will never forget my twin. Sleep tight until I get there Kerry."

Friend Chantelle Baird also read out a tribute to Miss Reeves.

She said: "Kerry was a popular, formidable character.

"She battled a lot of demons in her life but still maintained that cheeky smile.

"She worked at Oxford City Council as a customer service officer and was the life and soul of the office.

"You always heard her laughing. She laughed so much she was sometimes moved to different areas of the office.

"She was cheerful, full of life, the Queen of Bants, and loyal. She had a passion for life and you'd never see her without her bobble hat. She was a party girl."

A photo tribute was also played during the service, showing pictures of Miss Reeves throughout her life.

It was accompanied by songs Don't Look Back in Anger by Oasis, Waves by Indiana ft Rhodes, and Missing You by P Daddy ft Faith Evans.

The family of Kerry Reeves have thanked everyone for their kind words and sympathy through a difficult time.

Everyone at the ceremony was invited to a wake at Abingdon Football Club following the service.

Miss Reeves died last month after a shooting in Thornhill Walk, Abingdon.

Billy Johnson and Charles Noble, both 20, are charged with her murder.

Johnson, of Ripon Court, Corby, Northants, and Noble, of Kempton Avenue, Ealing, have been remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing in February.
