Protesters will today gather outside council offices to submit a petition to save Abbey Meadows outdoor pool.
The Friends of Abbey Meadows Outdoor Pool group has gathered 2,185 signatures through an online petition to save the Abingdon pool.
Vale of White Horse District Council wants to overhaul the area and is consulting on three new scenarios, of which two would see the pool closed down.
Scenario A offered a refurbishment of the pool, but scenario B would see the pool close and a riverside cafe or restaurant open; and scenario C proposed to close the pool and transform the meadow into “flexible green space.”
The consultation ends today.
