AUTHOR Rob Jones returned to the Abingdon nursery he attended to show youngsters his new book.
Mr Jones, 25, visited the Peachcroft pre-school in Lindsay Drive, to read 21 children aged two to four his story called Bernard, about a jam-loving dog.
He brought along a puppet of Bernard to entertain the group, including three-year-old Riley Walsh, from Abingdon, who said: “Bernard’s funny.”
Nursery assistant Fiona Milne said: “It was brilliant that Rob could return to the pre-school he attended 22 years ago to show children his new book.

“All the children loved Rob’s visit.”
Following the visit on Friday Mr Jones said on his Facebook page: “This was my first book reading and although I was really nervous, I think it went pretty well! The Bernard puppet definitely stole the show!”
The University of Gloucestershire graduate now specialises in children’s books and the Bernard story started out as a poem he worked on while he was at university.
Bernard has been published in paperback by Beast In Show Books, and costs £4.99.
