SKYE Hall’s parents, Andrew and Sally, buried the five-year-old in a private ceremony yesterday in the cemetery of St Martin’s Church, Bladon, where he had been christened.

The couple were the only ones present at the burial, to reflect his birth, but said anyone was welcome to visit his grave at any time.

Skye died last Friday, August 29 after fighting a brain tumour for a year.

He gained attention after an appeal to the public through the Oxford Mail last month when his family were trying to tick items off his ‘bucket list’ of things to do before he died.

There was a public memorial service on Thursday, which included a magician performing a silent magic trick and producing a white dove which then sat on Skye’s coffin during the blessing.

After the service Andrew and Sally released the dove outside.

Mourners were asked to donate to Skye’s charity Blue Skye Thinking instead of bringing flowers. It aims to raise money for alternative treatments for child cancer, after Skye’s treatment killed his healthy cells, and he died from radio-chemo neurotoxicity.
