An attempted burglary and three break-ins in a West Oxfordshire village have prompted an appeal for witnesses.
Thames Valley Police said the offences took place in Sutton near Standlake.
Between 10pm and 8am last Tuesday and Wednesday offenders have gained entry to three properties on Sutton Lane.
From one property a large number of expensive musical instruments were stolen, from another property a ladies mountain bike, large bottle of wine, two iPads and two iPods were also stolen.
The third property had many items taken from inside the garage which were then left on the drive way and the owners retrieved their own property. At approximately 3.50am on Wednesday morning an offender was disturbed whilst attempting to gain entry to a house in Eynsham Road, Sutton.
Officers discovered an amount of stolen property at the Thames Water facility along Sutton Lane.
Amongst the belongings was a pair of ladies hiking shoes.
Investigating officer, PC Adam Taylor from Local CID based at Witney police station, said: "We are keen for anyone with information regarding this to please come forward.
"If you heard or saw anything suspicious in the early hours of Wednesday morning please get in contact, we believe due to the locality of these incidents they may have all happened around 3.50am.
"We are keen to reunite these ladies' walking boots with their owner so please contact us on 101 if they are yours."
