ETHAN Bissett, 11, got stuck into his art lessons in Radford, near Enstone.

He tried his hand at drawing at the Lisa Jayne Art Studio, which runs classes and courses in drawing and painting for children and adults.

Tutor Louisa Turner, from Woodstock, said: “It was a regular after-school class for about six children. We looked at using a pen for cross-hatching and things like that to create a tonal picture of some trees. It was quite nice, because the children like using pens. It’s an illustrator-like task.

Mrs Turner said: “Ethan’s drawing was great. If you show him an example he gets stuck in. He’s quick at picking things up.”

The studio’s founder, Lisa Jayne Bloomer, added: “We specialise in encouraging art in young people and our goal is to make our studio a fun and an informative place to be.

"Whether they’re studying for GCSE and A-Level or are much younger and simply enjoy creating, then we have plenty of options.”
