Oxfordshire ladies have qualified for the Walker Cup national double rink finals at Leamington Spa on Sunday, August 11.

Oxon progressed after triumphing in the regional finals at Sutton BC, Surrey.

They defeated Kent 41-37 in the semi-finals, before beating Hampshire 44-29 in the final.

Caroline Campion’s rink of Sue Mayo, Pat Ostler and Donna Knight led Oxon’s charge in the final with a 26-12 success against skip Margaret Holden.

Katherine Hawes’s side of Carole Galletly, Jeanette Berry and Gail Gilkes edged home 18-17 against Allyson Flint to seal the victory.

Against Kent, Campion’s four lost out to skip Sue Gurr 20-14, but Hawes’s side beat Wendy King 27-17 to secure a four-shot win.
