JAMES Bolton smashed his personal best as he stormed to victory in the CPM Thame 10K.

The Woodstock Harriers star clocked 32mins 32secs to finish 51 seconds clear of Ollie Garrod (Epsom & Ewell Harriers).

Bolton, whose previous best for the distance had been 32.59, quickly took the lead and pulled clear of the field.

Last year he was beaten into second by Darrell Bellinger (Oxford City), but there was no catching Bolton this time as he also claimed the vet 40 honours.

Abingdon’s Paul Fernandez was third in 33.52, with Radley’s Will Cullen fourth in 34.13.

Jane Ovington (Marshall Milton Keynes) was the first lady home, the vet 35 athlete clocking 38.08.

Woodstock’s Jess Webb took the senior ladies’ title on her return from injury.

Webb, who suffered a bad knee injury during a cross country race in February, clocked a personal best 39.23 and was second lady home.

Eynsham Road Runners’ Kate Williamson was the first vet 55 lady, crossing the line in 46.19.

Witney Road Runners’ Graham Le Good took the vet 60 men’s honours in 45.12.

  • ROUND three of the Mota-Vation Road Race Series takes place at Combe tonight (7.30).
