Headington teenagers have been collecting money for charity for the past 5 years by carol singing from door to door.
The carol singing tradition was started by Imogen Charvill Ryall of London Road, Headington when she was in year 9 at Cheney School, in 2007. That year she gathered together a group of friends who sang door to door in Headington and Quarry for the NSPCC charity.
Each year since the group of friends - now supplemented by others from Cherwell School - have collected for a different charity.
Each year they manage to collect more than £100 for their chosen charity - including Amnesty, Water Aid and a Burmese orphanage. This year they broke all previous records - netting £150 for Rethink Mental Illness.
Imogen said, "People really love it when we go round singing carols at Christmas. It is a dying tradition which we wanted to keep up."
