LIFE is slowly getting back to normal for a pair of pals dubbed heroes after they foiled a knife-wielding man at a supermarket in Rose Hill.

Nali Swar said he is recovering after being stabbed in the right arm during an incident at the Premier Turna in The Oval last month.

The 22-year-old added: “I am getting better. I went to the hospital on Wednesday and they cleaned it out to help it heal. Hopefully I will be back at college this week.

“My friend is good too. Hopefully we can be back at the gym soon.”

Mr Swar and Mohammed Rasoul leapt into action after the man pulled out a knife and threatened the cashier on January 20.

Mr Rasoul, known locally as Hama Ramos, immediately jumped to his friend’s defence when he saw him fall and helped disarm the raider.

Mr Ramos, 24, added: “All our friends and family have said they are really proud of us.

“We were always good friends before. We would go to the gym together, so we’re still close now.”

Ricky Harris, 25, of Pegasus Road, Blackbird Leys, was charged with attempted robbery, wounding with intent, threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place and a racially aggravated public order offence.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Oxford Crown Court on February 19.
