Police are hunting a white van following a hit and run in Wallingford.

The crash happened between 8.30am and 10.30am on Thursday when the van hit a man on a yellow motorcycle travelling in Station Road near Fir Tree Avenue before driving off.

The 32-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious leg injuries and had to be taken to John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.

Investigating officer PC Ed Crofts, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either of the vehicles travelling at the time of the incident. The van has been described as a white Vauxhall Astra type van and was travelling towards the town centre at the time.

“If you have any information which could assist the investigation please come forward and speak to police.”
