A 34-year-old man has been arrested for aggravated burglary and criminal damage.

Thames Valley Police said officers were called to a home at about 5.45pm yesterday in Palmer Road, Wood Farm, where a group of men had forced entry and caused damage.

At 7.40pm the same day, police were called to an incident in Cranley Road, Barton following reports of a vehicle also being damaged by a group of men.

The 34-year-old man from Oxford remains in custody.

Det Sgt David Whittle: “We believe the offenders and victims are known to each other and that both offences have arisen as a result of the same dispute between these parties.

“While investigations continue to identify the remaining offenders, members of the public should be reassured that no one was injured in either offence and we are not concerned that the individuals pose a threat to the wider public."
