A convicted rapist due to be sentenced for a series of sexual offences may have fled to Hong Kong police have said.

Officers are hunting for Joseph Tsang, of Sandy Lane, Blackbird Leys, who failed to turn up to court on Tuesday, August 25, but was found guilty by a jury in his absence of two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

Tsang is due to reappear at court for sentencing for these offences, which took place in Hampshire.

The 31-year-old is also awaiting sentence for sexual offences carried out in Oxfordshire in 2012.

In January this year at the same court he was found guilty of one count of making indecent images of children, two counts of causing/inciting a female under 16 years to engage in sexual activity and three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 years.

Tsang is of Chinese origin, he is 5ft 7ins, slim and clean shaven, with brown eyes and short straight black hair. He usually wears glasses and earrings in both ears.

Police said he has access to a black Suzuki Swift BV07VEL.

Investigating officer, Det Chief Insp Katy Barrow-Grint of the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, said: “If anyone knows the whereabouts of Joseph Tsang then I would urge them to look inside their conscience and think about the victims who have been through a living nightmare at his hands. These victims are entitled to justice.

“It is possible that he has fled the Oxford area and could even be abroad, potentially in Hong Kong, where he has family ties, or elsewhere in Asia.”
