AN ELDERLY lady has had a 100-year-old gold pearl brooch and 200-year-old gold pocket watch stolen from her house in Watlington.
The woman, who lives in Howe Hill, was gardening when she saw a man on her doorstep last Tuesday.
Police said the man, aged 18-20, ran off and jumped over a gate before escaping in a getaway vehicle.
When the woman went upstairs she found her jewellery boxes emptied on her bed.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for information in connection with the burglary, which happened at about 4.15pm.
The force said the man was white, 5ft 6in and was wearing a dark waterproof jackets and dark trousers and driving a dark coloured car.
