COUNTY Hall provided the latest backdrop for ITV drama Endeavour when crews set up in Oxford city centre.
The crime series, which follows the adventures of a young Inspector Morse, has been filming throughout the county over the past few weeks for the upcoming third series.
The civic building in New Road provided the perfect setting as film crews and a “limited edition” Rolls-Royce rolled in.
Oxfordshire County Council spokesman Owen Morton said: “The TV crew have been filming external shots of the white doors and car park area at the front of the Old County Hall building. We understand the filming relates to a scene in which someone is released from prison and is driven away by a waiting Rolls-Royce. We gather it is a very limited edition vehicle that they are using.”
Shaun Evans plays the role of Oxford’s most famous detective, and following the success of its debut in 2012, the show had a further two series commissioned.
Also featuring in the latest round of filming is L.C. Hughes Scrap Metal Yard in London Road, Bicester.
The scrap yard was shut down for the day last Thursday to welcome actors Shaun Evans and Sean Rigby, who plays Chief Superintendent Strange. With them were a number a vintage cars and up to 50 crew members.
