A DRAMATIC bank heist briefly turned heads in Merton Street on Monday evening as filming continued for ITV’s crime series Endeavour.
The front reception of the Blavatnik School of Government (BSG) at number 10 and number 12 was transformed into a bank setting to make way for the popular series, which chronicles the exploits of a young Inspector Morse.
Alison Stibbe, head of communications at BSG, said: “We used one of our lecture rooms as a green room for extras.
“We had a brief ‘meet the cast’ session yesterday. Roger Allam showed up to say hello and take some pictures; we have some fans here so they were very excited.”
The series sees actor Shaun Evans play the role of Oxford’s most famous detective, and was so successful after its debut in 2012 that a further two series were commissioned.
At the end of series two the famous detective was languishing in a prison cell.
No release date has yet been set for the new series, but it is understood that the filming this week will be used for an episode in October.
