THIS year’s Magdalen College School Arts Festival was brought to life by sculptures of the human form nestled in the greenery of the school’s grounds.
Among the works featured were Rachel Ducker’s Life Size – a wire sculpture of a woman – and Etruscan Couple by Beatrice Hoffman. The exhibition was this year’s annual pop-up show.
The festival went ahead despite a fire at Magdalen College School on June 9 which saw months of work for the event go up in flames.
Ms Ducker has an interest in body language and physical expression and her work seeks to capture both the emotive and active through the indefiniteness of the wire forms. This year’s festival ran from June 20 to July 5 and featured more than 40 events.
