A SEVERE weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Oxfordshire on Friday.
The Met Office warned thunderstorms were likely to unleash “intense downpours” and said “frequent lightning could prove to be a hazard”, with the warning in place from 6am to midnight.
It said: “The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding which may lead to disruption to transport and outdoor activities.”
The cause for the massive downpour is a plume of very warm air, expected to move northwards from France early on Friday.
