THERE were major delays this morning on the A34 around Abingdon after two lorries were involved in a crash at 6.30am.
It happened on the northbound stretch between the Marcham Interchange and Abingdon North.
Lucy Billen, spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, said the road was closed briefly but has now reopened.
One lane remained blocked while fuel was cleared from the road, and the carriageway was clear by about 10.15am.
She said the vehicles involved were a Scania artic lorry and a Mercedes Sprinter Van and that the driver of the van had been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with facial injuries.
Ms Billen added that a two-vehicle collision involving a van, at Lodge Hill on Oxford Road, near the Abingdon North turn, happened at about 7.20am, delaying traffic leaving Abingdon.
No one was hurt in the Lodge Hill accident.
There is also congestion building on Abingdon's ring road and in the town centre.
Traffic sensors showed major tailbacks along the A34 all the way down to Milton.
