A PENSIONER was pulled from a house fire in Rose Hill this morning.

Fire crews were called at 10am after an alarm went off.

When they arrived officers went inside and could see smoke and hear the woman calling for help.

Two fire-fighters helped her get to a place of safety before the fire, which was started after an electrical fault, was extinguished using a hosereel.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor smoke inhalation.

Incident commander Will McPhail said “The working smoke alarm within the property undoubtedly saved the resident’s life, without the early warning the resident may not have had sufficient time to call for help.”
