YOUNG entrepreneurs hope to put their stamp on a business contest today after holding a final sale of their colourful Oxford postcards.

The Alpha team, from Cherwell School, have created a range of hand-drawn postcards based on local landmarks. They sold their designs at St Nicholas and St Aloysius school before hitting Cherwell School.

Economics student Roshan Upadhya, 17, said: “We were selling them at local primary schools, with our target market audience being the family.

“Our product is really unique.”

The teens, who held the sale on Tuesday, are among hundreds of contestants in the Young Enterprise Business of the Year Awards 2015. Students from schools across the county have an academic year to build their business from scratch.

The city and central finalists, including Cherwell School, will showcase their work and give a presentation to judges today, ahead of a county final on May 7 at the Said Business School.

Area finals for North and West Oxfordshire schools were held on April 22, and South and Vale on April 23.

Mr Upadhya said the Alpha team were feeling ready for the final challenge: “We have done a lot of research and practice.”

The postcards have also been sold at Asda in Wheatley, and trade fairs around the county.
