A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a suspected stabbing in North Way in Barton.
Police were called to the scene at about 10.50pm yesterday following reports of an injured man who was heavily bleeding in a red Mazda car parked on the road.
It is understood he had been stabbed.
The man, in his 30s, was taken to John Radcliffe hospital but died today.
North Way is shut between Burchester Avenue and Edgecombe Road and part of Burchester Avenue is also closed as forensics teams investigate.
A 31-year-old man from Oxford was arrested at the time on suspicion of attempted murder.
The victim is yet to be formally identified.

Det Chief Insp Mike Lynch, leading the investigation, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything to contact us as a matter of urgency.
"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a red Mazda vehicle in the area last night to make contact with us via 101.
“There are police officers currently carrying out searches at the scene. In addition there are officers doing house to house enquiries and reassurance patrols.”
A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We got called to the corner of Burchester Avenue and Edgecombe Road at 10.30pm last night.
“We treated a male who had injuries to his chest.
“He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with life threatening injuries.”

Buses are on diversion as a result of the road closures, which are likely to be in place for several hours it s understood.
