A 22-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were killed in Oxfordshire this weekend in two separate car crashes.

The woman, who has not been named, crashed into a tree by the A34 at Kidlington yesterday just before 12.25am. She was driving south when her white Seat Ibiza crashed off the road. There was no one else in the car and she died at the scene.

Her family have been informed.

Police closed the Kidlington exit slip road while they investigated the circumstances of the collision.

The 32-year-old man was driving a black Ford Focus that crashed off the B4000 near Zulu Farm between Ashbury and Shrivenham. His car also struck a tree.

Police were called at about 2.20pm on Saturday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been told. The road was closed while officers investigated the crash scene, but no other vehicles were involved.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward to help the investigation in both cases.
