Rail passengers will be affected over the Christmas period by major improvement works in Reading and Slough.

Network Rail will be completing work to a new £45m viaduct to the west of the station, resulting in limited services and bus replacements on some routes.

From December 27 direct train services from Oxford to London will be reduced to two an hour until January 3.

On January 4 the First Great Western service between Didcot and Oxford will be served by a bus replacement service due to engineering works.
