MAYOR of London Boris Johnson had a confession to make when he visited Oxford to sign copies of his latest book.

The former Oxford University student, speaking at Blackwell’s bookshop, in Broad Street, on Saturday, said: “It’s lovely to be back in Oxford.

“I’ve just been walking around the quad of Trinity College and I had the horrible realisation that I still have a book from their library that I haven’t returned.

“I’ll need to dig that out and give it back next time I come to Oxford.”

Readers queued to meet the former Henley Conservative MP, who was signing copies of The Churchill Factor: How One Man Made History.

The former Balliol College student, who is bidding to return to Parliament at next year’s General Election, met fans including New College student 21-year-old Brandon Santulli, from New York City.

Mr Santulli said: “I’m currently studying Churchill and I think that Mr Johnson’s book is a refreshing account of the wartime hero.”
