A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and another person has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A34 this morning.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Lucy Billen said the man is believed to still be in custody.

His arrest followed a collision between a Vauxhall Corsa and a Toyota Previa on the northbound carriageway at Botley.

Ms Billen added that a nearby bus shelter had  been "demolished" in the collision.

South Central Ambulance service said two ambulance crews were sent to the scene.

Spokeswoman Catherine Morrow said: “One patient was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with minor injuries.”
