A new service for people aged 50 and over who have been affected by cancer has been opened at Churchill Hospital in Oxford.

It was started by Oxfordshire Advocacy and is funded by Macmillan Cancer Services and Older People’s Advocacy Alliance. As part of the scheme, those who are 50 or older help others with practical tasks such as booking medical appointments and using advice services.

The service is free and confidential. Patients can be referred to it through doctors, nurses or other health professionals.
