A CAMPAIGN group has been left “disappointed and angry but not surprised” by a report recommending the £100m West Way redevelopment goes ahead.

Objectors said the development would create extra traffic, is too big and would impact on local businesses.

Vale of White Horse District Council planning officer Stuart Walker said its planning committee should approve the plan.

West Way Community Concern Chairman Chris Church said: “Of course we are disappointed and angry but we are not surprised. We are annoyed at the way objections seem to be mentioned but ultimately ignored in the report.

“We still hope the planning committee will recognise there are flaws in this report and have the independence of mind to decide on this for themselves.”
