FACES lit up both with lights and joy as hundreds turned out for Didcot’s annual Christmas street fair yesterday.

A parade made its way down Broadway at 7pm and Father Christmas granted wishes at Didcot Methodist Church.

One of the highlights of the event, which began at 4pm, was the abundance of brightly-coloured Christmas lights.

Paulina Sieczka, eight, from Didcot, said: “This fair was really good. I loved the bright lights. I wanted to go on lots of rides.”

As well as fairground rides there were dozens of stalls lining the Orchard shopping centre.

This is the 21st time the event has made its way through the town, with previous years’ themes including James Bond and the Great British Bake Off.
