IRELAND’S famous Riverdance show is in Oxford to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The show will be at the New Theatre on Saturday and Sunday as part of a national tour.

The complex dance was first performed during the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and has now been seen by 2.9 million people in more than 1,000 performances.

Lead dancer Bobby Hodges said audiences could expect an “explosion of Irish culture” at the show. The 24-year-old added: “I’ve been to Oxford once before, but that was just for a day, so I can’t wait to look around.
