A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with murder after a man was stabbed in Abingdon on Sunday night. 

Natasha Elderfield, aged 40, of no fixed abode, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court this afternoon charged with one count of murder.

She appeared in the dock dressed in a baggy grey jumper and spoke only to confirm her name and address.

Elderfield has been remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court tomorrow at 10.30am.

Officers were called at about 7.35pm on Sunday to a mooring by the River Thames near Bridge Street, following a report that a man had been stabbed.

Police said the victim, who has been identified as Robert Dobinson, 33, from Faringdon, was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service, where he died from his injuries.

He was identified locally as Robert 'Raggy' Smith.
