DIDCOT: A grandfather who travelled across England on his bus pass has raised £625.92 for charity. Alan Gurr, 67, will donate the money to East Oxford children’s hospice, Helen and Douglas House.

Mr Gurr, who works at TNT packaging warehouse in Milton Park, set off from England’s most northerly bus stop, Berwick-upon-Tweed, on July 14.

The following Tuesday, eight days and 32 buses later, he arrived at the country’s most southerly bus stop, at Land’s End, and took the train home.
