Major delays on trains

First published in News

Commuters faced major delays yesterday on trains between Oxford and London Paddington because of a signalling problem.

First Great Western services were disrupted because of problems on the line between Reading and Slough.

Lines were opened at 11.30am but problems continued into the afternoon.

There were also delays yesterday afternoon on FGW and CrossCountry services between Oxford and Banbury because of a problem with equipment at Heyford.

This should be left in the paper everyday. It is very rare for there not to be a problem between Oxford and Paddington.Great Western could not run a **** up in a brewery.

I'm looking forward to HS2 - what speed, what modernity - unfortunately it doesn't go where I need - but then neither did Frst Great Western on Monday.

Megs, plenty of people do need to go where HS2 will go, and with Old Oak Common 45 min away, it will be there when you need it.

The signalling problems are not FGW's area as FGW don't operate the track or signalling. This is NR's responsibility and signalling problems in the Reading/Maidenhead/S
lough area seem to be getting more and more frequent. What is the problem here? Is it the electrification works?
