Oxford Pride – the city’s annual Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender parade – takes place today.

It will begin at Ship Street at noon and will travel through the centre of Oxford to Oxpens Recreation Ground.

The route will cover Cornmarket Street, Queen Street and Bonn Square, with the roads being closed during the parade.

Oxford Bus Company said there may be some delays to buses from noon to 1pm.

Why isn't the headline something like "Oxford celebrating its Pride"?

You can then mention the useful information about the road closures in the body of the piece. Surely road closure is not the only important thing about Pride Parade??

For the vast majority of Oxonians trying to go about their daily business yes, the road closures are the most important thing.

The day straight people can have a 'Straight Pride' march and the roads can be closed is the day that there will be equality. Closing the roads for just a small number of people was ridiculous.
