Am Dram Man is Lance Bassett who joined the Group way back in 1971 as a child actor it must be said. (Well nearly)
So the silly season hits home early this year folks as rehearsals continue for The Memory of Water (Southmoor Village Hall May 7th, 8th, 9th 7.30pm sharp seats in all parts at the time of writing) and also for our ODN entry Kill Jill.
Another week passes and the group is busy not only rehearsing three plays but also minds are concentrating on our stand at the village fete (27th June- Kingston House. We thought we could stage a Murder Mystery using the theme a ’Fete Worse Than Death’ (good grief!) and ideas have been abounding. Well it all remains to be sorted at the next committee meeting and the AGM, which is looming on the horizon.
OK so I promised a critical analysis on ‘Life & Beth’ at the Playhouse last week, here goes- it was very good. I thank you.
Committee meeting this week so perhaps there will be something madly exciting to report on the drama front next time. The Blandy Boffins village quiz is later this week and the Drama Group is fielding two teams in this annual event held in the school hall. Full report and results next blog.
No news week this week. Rehearsals continue apace, committee meeting is not until next week, what do I do for news? Well it never ceases to amaze me for starters how just enough national news happens each day to fill a newspaper. It is also interesting I find, when reading the obituaries that people die in alphabetical order.
As regular readers will know I seldom whinge(!), but as I paid my TV licence fee this week the thought did cross my mind as to what I was paying it for.
Chatting to old Chuffer last night he told me with a tear glistening in the corner of his eye that he had still not heard from Marylin. The tear though could have been due to the fact he had pranged his car on Saturday night and his no-claims bonus was disappearing over the hill waving good bye to him.
Rehearsals continue for our spring offering of ‘The Memory of Water’ and our festival entry ‘Kill Jill’.
Rehearsals started in earnest this week for The Memory of Water, our May production remember? They had a very successful read-through on Monday at the Church Hall, and off they go into full blown rehearsals that will result no doubt into another winner in the Spring. Further news as it breaks.
