In true British tradition the Botanic Garden’s summer picnic season starts this Saturday with something all gardeners have been craving this week….Rain!

It may sound like an urban myth, but apparently Iceland is able to make use of its free geothermal heat and its long days of summer sun to grow bananas for the Icelandic population.
