Christmas might be over, but the Spirit lives on. Don't fall into the typical paucity of diet and detox after the holidays! January and February are bad enough with out starving yourself of a little libation.

So we are in to the quiet season now, pub quizzes on hold, no KBDG meetings and Chuffer off to Malta for three weeks (or is it four?).

Having recovered from the Brief Encounter with Noel Coward and the autograph requests have stopped we ventured across the channel to La Belle France with a group of our older chums to celebrate (perhaps not quite the right word) a significant birthday of mine.

So that’s it another show put to bed. It’s strange that when rehearsals are practically every night and nerves kick in, amateur actors sit round and wonder why they offer themselves up for such torture. Then as soon as the play is over there is a tremendous feeling of sadness that it’s all over. Very strange though I venture to suggest it is probably the same for many a professional actor dear boy.

Well both the technical and the dress rehearsal have been and gone and tomorrow night we open for our three night run of ‘A Brief Encounter with Noel Coward’ which includes the play ‘Still Life’ from which (and I’m sure you will remember this) the film Brief Encounter was made. It’s done. Everything is now in place for our Brief Encounter with Noel Coward. All there is between us and the opening night is the technical and dress rehearsal early next week and then on Thursday 26th it’s on with the show.

So it’s books down and costumes on this week as our production of Noel Coward’s Still Life nears its performance dates at the end of this month.
