WITH all the hype in the newspaper over cyber attacks, it seems to be forgotten about how everyone is being pressurised into carrying out transactions through the internet whether wanting to or not.

Already mouthwatering sums of money are being stolen including from vulnerable and elderly people through electronic and other scamming methods, which probably is enough to pay for the shortfall in both NHS and educational funding.

While big business and government departments are able to pay or pass on costs for expensive security measures, most people are unlikely to afford or justify such expense involved.

It seems that the rights of the citizen to choose how to carry out every day living transactions is being eroded and replaced with being forced into using the computer with all the risks involved as well as it taking control over lives. Although this issue has been taken up many times with policy makers, it has been continually put to one side or ignored.
