WE WERE led to believe it would be easy as we were encouraged to make our mark to leave the EU.

Now we all know that it will not be and the price will have to be paid.

The brave but tortured face of Prime Minister May says it all.

As we now realise that we must accept change with few guarantees that our economy will not continue to sink even further when we finally leave.

We desperately seek reassurance, but instead we suffer the miscalculations of Chancellor Hammond, the inane grin of David Davis and the blatant I don’t know waffle of Boris to add even further to our woes.

It helps not a jot to understand that we have been duped and are now incompetently led.

As usual it will be the not so well off and those needing secure employment that have the most to fear.

Nor will it help or convince us when we are told that it is everyone else’s fault not our own stupidity.
