I READ in Saturday’s Oxford Mail that Thames Water will receive the biggest fine for not controlling the waste from their sewerage plants into the rivers which resulted in fish being killed and also damage to the environment.
Earlier last week Thames Water said the water rates would have to be increased so that all the leaks in the county could be repaired.
So now will the extra rates which will be increased in April go towards fixing the leaks or will they be used to pay for the substantial fine which will be imposed? I’m sure whatever they choose the consumer will foot the bill.
