I WAS delighted to see the story claiming that the West Oxfordshire garden bin charge will lead to flytipping.

This fact I pointed out to the council.

I also pointed out that, as usual, the extra charge will be very hard and unfair on those least able to afford it, but like to keep grass cut, etc.

Little gardening is done November to January (grass does not grow so much, and the weather is not usually conducive to a couple of hours weeding, pruning, etc) so that is three months of paying for a bin unused!

The council said it would not lead to fly-tips – oh ye of little faith! I frequently spotted tipping when I was able to walk some of my favourite countryside tracks when I did not need my walker.
