AMERICAN “democracy” seems a very complicated affair and in fact differs from state to state.
Certainly throughout the entire USA there’s no such thing as one person, one vote. Sometimes not being a party members means you don’t have a vote at all. Generally, the popular vote, when it happens, is translated into “delegates” and it’s their votes that chooses the President or presidential candidate.
But even that is not so simple as it sounds, in case those entitled to a vote make the wrong choices there are also some people called “Super Delegates” whose appointment and choices are not in any way connected to the results of a popular vote.
Clinton’s campaign is estimated to cost around £50m but at the end of the day no one can deny that the USA has the best democracy money can buy.
So I guess we will have to wait until November to see who wins, Forrest Trump, Killary Clinton or perhaps Ted Crud will re-join the race.
In the meantime, of course, the USA is busy bringing “democracy” to the rest of the world, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and work in progress, Syria.
Just by coincidence all are now havens for terrorists and their natural resources allocated out to foreign interests. Not forgetting credit to the largely USA-funded NATO.
