I AM not surprised footfall has fallen in Oxford city.
Thank goodness for visitors, because I am sure most local people now go to other towns.
Roadworks have been in the centre for so many years now (how long ago was the whole of Queen Street taken up on both sides of the road – complete mayhem). A few weeks ago roadworks again were on Carfax and now the centre again is a bombsite.
Who wants to be involved with it all? It costs a fortune to use park-and-ride buses and if you need a toilet, heaven help you. I for one have given up on Oxford long ago and now go to the towns giving free parking and free from roadworks.
Oh and yes, there are plenty of toilets in these towns. Oxford council needs to take a long look at their city, it is dying and if it does, I doubt it will come to life again.
