THE real concern about the Prime Minister’s and Chancellor’s tax affairs is not that they are wealthy. We already knew that.

The criticism we should be levelling at them relates to the policies of the Government they run.

The cuts they have imposed have been almost exclusively aimed at the poorest and most vulnerable in society.

At the same time, tax cuts and tax loopholes benefit those like themselves who have inherited their wealth.

It appears that they are governing the country in the interests of those who least need help.

Surely those born into privilege have a special responsibility to do all they can to protect those without that advantage?

Instead, cuts to benefits, the imposition of the bedroom tax and the slashing of local government services have made the gap between those at the top and those at the bottom even wider.

That is the real scandal.

SUE TANNER

A FEW weeks ago, David Cameron was criticising, Google, Amazon and Costa Coffee for not paying enough tax in the UK.

They had done nothing illegal.

Now he is defending his father, who also has done nothing illegal, for doing the same thing. Hypocrite!
