THERE is a lot of confusion around that the idea of a school with a Christian ethos.

I suspect that city councillor Roy Darke knows that such a school does not select on the basis of the faith of the family, but is open to all faiths and none, so there is no reason to expect people to travel any distance to get to it.

The only reason this school might congest the roads are because of the love of the car by parents, because local schools are oversubscribed and children are forced to travel outside their catchment, or because the school gets a particularly good reputation.

As stated by another contributor, this is exactly the same situation as with the excellent St Andrew’s School, Headington. It is very local and few travel there by car.
