WHY do the contractors at the Westgate development need to import ready-mix concrete? (Concrete sets as trucks wait in traffic, November 27) Why are they not mixing it themselves with a concrete batcher equipment.? In nearly 50 years working in large construction sites, the main contractors have always mixed their own concrete, as and when needed, saving much money.
Seems to me that contractors want the easy way to build these days.
Most of Blackbird Leys was built using concrete made on site.
