OH, NO, not again. Isn’t it time for the editorial team to clip the whining wings of the Police Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfield.

Once again, like a constant drone (Oxford Mail, November 21) ‘sob-story’ Stansfield is up in arms about cuts to the police budget.

Maybe someone can tell him politely but firmly that it’s not government money you want more of Tony, it’s our money! And we resent paying more. It might make your argument a tad easier on our tired, weary old ears if, for example, you publish the total mileage allowances paid out to senior police and civilian members of the force.

There are obvious savings that can and need to be made – and it’s your job to make them. The dog doesn’t need a shiny coat if its teeth remain sharp.
