ALONG with the rest of the country, I have been saddened by the atrocities that have happened this weekend in Paris.

I have seen on social media, and in the news, the support that is offered to the people of this city and all of France. There are in excess of 100 families who now have to come to terms with their tragic losses, and I have started a crowd funding, fundraising page to try to relieve some of the financial burden that will ensue: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/French-shooting-victims

The words of the father who says his one-year-old son “Will insult IS with his freedom and happiness every day” is very moving. Please, please may I ask for just a small donation of a pound or two so that we can show tangible support, not just the changing of a photo to the French tricolour.

Almost every town in the UK is twinned with its counterpart in France, Oxford itself is twinned with Grenoble. Let us show them now what that really means. Twins share pain and emotion, we know not how, but this might help someone.
