AS A frequent bus traveller using Frideswide Square, I wonder if the planners have really thought through the needs of bus users.

As well as the potential narrowness of the bays, the shelters and stops themselves seem inadequate for use at busy times.

When the stops were divided with dedicated shelters, the old set up provided plenty of covered waiting space at times of inclement weather (Frideswide Square is very exposed to rain and wind), now it seems that all bus users will wait together with only one shelter per bay...it will be a bit of a scrum at busy times as travellers will need to potentially rush from one end of the bay to another to ensure they catch the correct bus!

I do admire the profusion of granite seating though...who exactly is it intended for? The busy commuter rushing to the rail station? The tourists wishing to enjoy the traffic fumes at close quarters? To provide a comfy resting place for the skateboarder or tired gentlemen with bottles of cider perhaps?
